The three layer model and reducing risk together
SlipAlert testing allows you to understand the slip resistance of the floor and also to understand the slip resistance of the floor with different types of contamination. There will be instances where it is difficult/impossible to maintain sufficient slip resistance for example: mixing areas in food factories, lab areas in pharmaceutical companies, engine factories, any building while manual cleaning is performed etc. In these cases it makes a great deal of sense to ensure employees are wearing effective anti-slip footwear.
Not all safety shoes are slip resistant
There is a natural assumption that safety shoes are "safe" and that "safe" includes safe from slip risk. Shoes For Crews make shoes that are specially designed for slip resistance. We have made SlipAlert sliders and tested many different shoe heels for slip resistance and found that not all safety shoes offer protection from slip risk.
