Cleaning and operations staff should be taught to appreciate the difference between the slip risk on a cean dry floor and the risk when the floor is contaminated or wet. By understanding the slip risk of different floors it is possible to avoid preventable accidents such as those caused by mopping a floor without drying it or keeping people off the floor till it is safely dry.

We'd like your help to prove the value of gathering real data on floors and the changes over time. Some floors remain safe for many years, others change from being quite safe to quite dangerous depending on the cleaning regime, treatments, coatings and polishes applied, the level of pedestrian use, other wear (trolleys etc), contamination, how people interact with the floor etc. Many factors can affect the risk of slips and many factors can contribute to the changes in your floors. We believe that every customer who regularly tests "at risk" floors and collates the data will help to build a knowledge base that will help prevent slip accidents.
