SlipAlert LLP is dedicated to improving floor safety and to reducing slip accidents. We are pleased to support the RoSPA Safety Groups around the country and to help Safety group members keen to reduce slip accidents.
SlipAlert Roadshow talks...
These are interactive talks on floor safety, slips trips and falls. We present these talks ranging from 10 minutes to 1 hour to suit your agenda. We can attend your regular Safety Group meetings or we can present to a wider audience if you plan a SHE forum. The talks are interactive and include time for member questions on issues like cleaning, anti-slip treatments, stairs, slopes, SAT etc.
Try SlipAlert
Members get a chance to try SlipAlert to see for themselves how easy and consistent it is and why it is a great tool for educating people about floor safety as well an important tool in reducing slip accidents. We discuss how SlipAert compares with the Pendulum and why it differe from roughness measurements. The talk is about what can be done to prevent “shattered lives” cover as
Your members will get the chance to try SlipAlert (easy and fun) and see how quickly and easily different floors can be assessed.
What Safety Groups Say...
The Safety Groups we have met with have found the talks interactive, enjoyable and very informative.
We are presenting to safety groups around the country an interactive talk on floor safety, slips, trips and falls. (the HSE shattered lives campaign reminds us that there is a slip accident every three minutes) . The talk is informative and interactive. It covers aspects of floor safety: slips, trips, falls, stair safety, the importance of cleaning, and the effects of water and other contaminants on floor safety. Members get a chance to try SlipAlert, we take questions during the talk and we’ll discuss specific floor safety issues faced by members of your group.
Other
We’ll show the effects of contamination and how water and other contaminants affect slip resistance. You’ll see dramatic visual evidence of effects of how poor cleaning and grease on floors can leave slip hazard areas. We’ll compare SlipAlert readings with Pendulum results and we will show that SlipAlert correctly measures the slip risk of wet and greasy floors unlike Micro-surface roughness which does not. We will explode a few myths about stair safety and we’ll reveal the top four recommendations from BRE (The Building research Establishment) for improving stair safety.
Members of other groups have enjoyed the talks and they like the fact that SlipAlert is an easy visual way of demonstrating floor safety risks. They feel it offers a great way to raise H&S awareness in a positive way. We will show that SlipAlert is also very useful for measuring the effectiveness of cleaning regimes and measuring the effectiveness over time of any anti-slip floor treatments.
The Presenters...
The talks are given by Andrew Stewart and Jenny Bailey. Andrew is the Performance Director from SlipAlert who has a passion for floor safety and delivers the talks with dynamism and some of that Scottish passion.
Jenny Bailey is the wife of the inventor of SlipAlert Dr Malcolm Bailey. Jenny adds warmth and personality as she talks frankly about the SlipAlert story and family belief that shaped a product designed to make floor safety easy. Its not been a easy journey but meeting SHE professionals who want to improve floor safety makes it all worthwhile for Jenny.
I enclose some slides we use however it is a very interactive talk and the slides are really there to illustrate answers to questions that usually arise. The presentation centres on SlipAlert and roughness tests on floors to show the dramatic effects of contamination caused by poor cleaning – and members participate both in testing and considering how their business could benefit from a reduction in slip accidents.
